Total Putts Taken shows the total number of putts taken for a particular segment of putting statistics. Putting segments that include this statistic can be either distance in feet from the start of a putt or by number of putts per hole. These segments will include a count of putts that qualify for the segment (Total Count for putts per hole and Attempts for putt distance). Total Putts Taken shows the number of putts in the segment like the count does, but also includes the number of putts that happened after.
Consider the following putts for a single hole:

This hole would show up in the following putting segments:
- Putts Taken
- 2 - this hole had 2 putts to hole out
- Total Count: 1 - there was one occurrence of a two putt hole
- Total Putts Taken: 2 - there were two total putts to hole out
- 2 - this hole had 2 putts to hole out
- Putt Distance
- 10 feet - the first putt
- Attempts: 1 - one occurrence of a 10 foot putt
- Total Putts Taken: 2 - it took two putts to hole out from this distance
- 2 feet - the second putt
- Attempts: 1 - one occurrence of a 2 foot putt
- Total Putts Taken: 1 - it took one putts to hole out from this distance
- 10 feet - the first putt
