Approach Accuracy is a set of statistics that shows the percentage of all approach shots that had a particular result. The approach shot results are:
- Hit
- Miss Left
- Miss Right
- Miss Short
- Miss Long
- Short Sided (Approach Report Only)
- Long Sided (Approach Report Only)
This stat can be found on the Dashboard in the Ball Striking section. A variation of this stat can be found in the Approach Report in the Approach Accuracy section but here the miss percentages are calculated by percent of all misses rather than percent of all shots.
Consider the following results:
Total Shots | Total Hit | Total Miss Left | Total Miss Right | Total Miss Short | Total Miss Long |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
40 | 20 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 |
This would produce the following in the Dashboard:
- Hit - 50%
- Miss Left - 13%
- Miss Right - 13%
- Miss Short - 13%
- Miss Long - 13%
Note that the 13% for the misses are from rounding 12.5%
This same data would produce the following in the Approach Report:
- Hit - 50%
- Miss Left - 25%
- Miss Right - 25%
- Miss Short - 25%
- Miss Long - 25%
The difference between the two results is due to the Approach Report calculating the percentage for the misses from the total misses (5 miss left / 20 total misses = 25%) rather than from total shots (5 miss left / 40 total shots = 12.5%) like on the Dashboard.
